The Fitness Center is located on the lower level of the Club House and is open daily 5AM-10:00PM. All users must be 18 years or older. Entry can only be gained by using an electronic key card which can be obtained at the Management Office.

If you are looking for a place to shed a few pounds or inches, add more tone or muscle to your frame, rehabilitate from an injury, relieve everyday stress, find an alternative to the expense of a private gym membership or, simply, meet a new neighbor, why not give The Fitness Center a whirl? In addition to the existing equipment which included two treadmills, an elliptical, stair-stepper, free weights and rack, exercise bikes and a four-station Cybex Universal gym, six new pieces of equipment were added to The Fitness Center in 2012 to bring our facility more in line with comparably sized townhouse properties in our area and make it more suitable as a social outlet and networking venue. A description of the new equipment is listed below.

*Cybex Bravo Functional Trainer: A free form cable motion-adjustable exercise machine that can develop strength while increasing muscle involvement.
*Hampton Vertical Weight Rack: Includes 8 pairs of urethane-hexagonal dumbbells ranging from 2.5-20.0 pounds to supplement the current 3 tier dumbbell weight rack.
*Concept 2 Model D Rowing Machine: Perfect for maintaining general health & fitness, losing weight, cross training for another sport, aid in rehabilitation or training for competitive rowing.
*Cybex 625T Treadmill: This 5HP machine gives us a much needed third treadmill to help alleviate waiting time for the most popular piece of cardio equipment in any gym.
*Cybex 625AT ARC Trainer: Offers broad incline and resistance ranges which means it is really 3 machines in one...At the lower incline levels, the “glide” is a cross country skier. In the mid-level, the motion is a “strider” like an elliptical except with proper positioning. At the high levels, you get the “climb” of a stair stepper.
*True Stretch Cage: This solid steel construction station provides a dedicated, self-contained stretching area that gives users a safe platform for comprehensive stretching to increase flexibility and reduce risk of injury. True Stretch effectively stretches the body in all three planes of motion (front to back, side to side, and rotational) while keeping the user in upright positions with four points of contact (both hands and both feet). This apparatus comes with an easy-to-follow exercise placard displayed on the frame

Rules & Etiquette

*Only Cambridge Heights Residents who are currently “in good standing” are allowed to use the Fitness Center and the equipment.
*Fitness Center is for use by Adults only. Guests or Residents under 18 years old are not permitted to use the facility or equipment therein. If any Resident sees a violation of this regulation, please point it out to the offender immediately. If the person persists, please report the incident to the Management Office as soon as possible for further action.
*Entrance to the Fitness Center is gained by magnetic identification key cards only. Residents must use their key card for entry with NO EXCEPTION. This is a security measure that helps to ensure that only Cambridge Heights Residents “in good standing” can gain access to the facility. Under no circumstance are Residents of Cambridge Heights to open the security entrance door for people (with no key card) attempting to enter the Fitness Center. Any Resident who violates this regulation is subject to loss of Fitness Center privileges immediately.
*Cardio Vascular Equipment Time Limits: The elapsed time limit for machine use is 30 minutes per session. Be respectful of your fellow Residents and vacate the machine when your time has expired. All Residents have the right to view the time on any active machine and note the “elapsed” time. If the “elapsed” time has exceeded the 30 minute maximum, that member has the right to ask the member who is using that equipment to vacate the equipment immediately.
*Use of all fitness equipment is on a first come, first serve basis. When other members are present and the piece of equipment you want to use is occupied, just use common sense and ask: Is anyone planning to use this piece of equipment next? If no one wants to use that equipment, then it is up to you to view the “elapsed” time and let the person currently occupying that equipment know that you are next in line. Then, follow the Time Limit guideline outlined above.
*Please conduct ALL cell phone conversations outside of the Fitness Club.
*Please consider fellow Residents when adjusting the volume of the facility’s TV sets.
*Personal audio systems (without headsets) are NOT permitted.
*Proper athletic shoes/sneakers are required when using equipment. Under no circumstances are sandals or bare feet acceptable. Proper clothing is also required. Wet bathing suits are prohibited.
*Smoking or consumption of Alcohol is not permitted.
*Consumption of food is not permitted.
*Do not drop weights after completing a rep because this can damage the cement base beneath the rubberized flooring.
*Please return all fitness equipment to their original positions and place weights back on racks when your session is finished. Violators of this regulation will lose Fitness Center privileges immediately.
*Please keep weight-lifting equipment away from doorways or walking areas while in use because they present a hazard.
*Please do not remove any equipment from the facility. Violators of this regulation will lose Fitness Center privileges immediately.
*Please use anti-bacterial spray and paper towel provided to wipe down all equipment you have used following your fitness session.
* Please note that all Residents should observe “AT YOUR OWN RISK” caution when using this facility and equipment therein. Be sure to carefully read any instruction or warning information attached to the exercise machines. If you are unclear about the about the operation of any equipment, DO NOT USE IT.
*Any misuse of exercise room or equipment will result in immediate revocation of Fitness Center privileges and possible fines.
*Always consult with your physician prior to beginning a fitness program.
